Jason Markk turned to Channel Bakers to help them take control of their brand on Amazon, and build online sales from zero to several million in a short timeframe.

Creating a premium online experience as close as possible to the retail experience was essential. Channel Bakers developed gallery images, A+ content and a brand store designed to educate the shopper about the products needed to clean specific types of shoes.
Once the brand was retail ready, the Channel Bakers team delivered comprehensive white-glove eCommerce and advertising managed services.
In 2020 when non-essential stores and malls were temporarily shuttered, Jason Markk, the world’s most trusted brand in premium shoe care products, found its path to market abruptly cut off.
The company’s products were sold in over 5000 retail locations like Nordstrom, Kith, and Foot Locker. When those stores closed, Jason Markk had to find a new route – FAST.
Like many other brands, Jason Markk turned to retail ecommerce for the first time. While Jason Markk products were sold on Amazon, all of the listings were from third-party sellers. Listings had poor-quality images, content in multiple languages and claims that were not in line with the brand. Jason Markk did not have control of its brand on Amazon, and had stiff competition from other well established shoe care products that had been selling on Amazon for a long time.
No brand control on Amazon
Low-quality content and imagery
Products sold mostly through third-party retailers
Strong in-category competition from other brands
The pivot to online sales was swift. The Channel Bakers team developed a full-funnel advertising strategy to capture shoppers at every point in their journey from awareness to retargeting to conquesting competitors.
Jason Markk saw an increase in buy box win rate of up to 96% across their product line through their work with Channel Bakers. They were also able to maintain over 30% monthly Amazon profitability on average, all while not compromising their sales growth. Jason Markk was also able to lean on Channel Bakers’ Amazon expertise to iron out snags in Amazon supply and distribution.
Jason Markk has reopened its brick-and-mortar stores, but their strengthened presence on Amazon put them on track to triple their expected annual sales for 2021, and is still a key part of their overall business strategy. All thanks to the work they did in partnership with Channel Bakers.
